I've only seen a few episodes of Boston Legal, and the series finale was not one of them. Just tell me this, though. Did the episode end with Shatner and the other guy on that balcony, smoking cigars?
It did indeed - nearly every episode of the series ended that way. It was only right to end the series finale that way.
It was a great episode, though - Denny and Alan ended up getting married to each other, along with Shirley and Carl. I thought it was a very clever and great way to end the show.
Watch:
Medium, Mondays at 10pm, on NBC!
Big Bang Theory, Mondays at 8pm, on CBS!
The Mentalist, Tuesdays at 9pm, on CBS!
Old Christine, Wednesdays at 8pm, on CBS!
Hell's Kitchen, Thursdays at 9pm, on FOX!
Ah. I wonder if ION will air Season 5 soon (I think that is the last season), or if there is something in the contract of Boston Legal that says season 5 can't air for a year or so.

I wonder what ION's contract with the show says about that. I'd love to see season 5 added to the cycle soon, but it's possibly that they may not be able to air it until next fall (if its even airing by then).

My eyes still tear up at the thought of this show being canceled!! Thank you ION for playing repeats!! I watch every night at 8!!
Glad to see another BL fan here! Isn't this show fantastic? I agree with you - I honestly don't understand why ABC cancelled this show in the first place. Sure, it was never a breakout hit, but it always did well and reliably - I wouldn't call 9 million viewers weekly bad by any means.
But like you, I'm glad we can relive the show on ION for now.

Yes, it ended with James Spader and William Shatner on the balcony smoking cigars, drinking Scotch and dancing with each other.

Thank you. I'll have to watch that episode some day, since I've seen about four or five episodes, and could probably gather enough of the plot to appreciate the ending.

Have to wait another week. They seem to change the time slots every few weeks. What gives? Why not just put it on M-F 8-9 or 8-10 and be done with it. Its about the only show I really watch and get into. DC is tooo funny! and to think he was Kirk... hahaha... I am not much for hospital, cops or legal shows but this one hits life right on the money. So many cases are true of todays world we live in.
I'm glad to see the show got a new viewer! It seems to me like every viewer that watches the show for the first time starts to love it! Happened to me, too.
I watched Deadwood now and then, mainly for Molly Parker A lot of swearing, though, but it was HBO!

Just started watching Boston Legal so most episodes are new to me. I haven't enjoyed a show so much since Deadwood and the Sopranos.POSITIVELY THE BEST SHOW on TV!!
Above is a link to Boston Legal and Season Five. It is not available for sale yet and will be released on WS DVD with many extras on May 5th. Be very careful buying TV shows from companies you are not familiar with. There are places selling all 9 seasons of Matlock, for example. Only the first two seasons are legit DVD releases.
